Grey Rische wants the shirt off your back.

Well, not really. He’d actually prefer it if you gave him a brand new one.

Rische and other members of Coupeville’s Leo Club are running a clothing drive the first two weeks of Dec. and need your help to make it a success.

They want to collect NEW clothing items such as pants, socks, jackets, etc. and will donate everything to the Holiday House in time for the items to be distributed for Christmas.

Donations can be dropped off at the main office at Coupeville High School (501 S. Main) during school hours.

You have a month to get used to seeing without your glasses, punk.

Cause once we get to Dec. 5 the Coupeville Leos are coming for your spectacles (all of them!) and there’s nothing you can do about it!

And … OK, I’m being told I’m a moron and I may have greatly misunderstood the situation.

Well, wouldn’t be the first time…

Apparently the Leos are not a street gang dedicated to terrorizing the myopic, after all.

Seems they’re a youth service organization, an offshoot of the Lions Club, and their pursuit of your (old and unused) eyeglasses is for a good cause.

Well then.

So, now, having actually read all the info, here’s what I can tell you:

The Leos, who in the past have included fine, upstanding members of Wolf Nation such as Grey Rische, Bree Daigneault, Joey Lippo and Sofia Hassapis, will be walking in Coupeville’s Greening Day Parade Dec. 5.

During the parade they’re hoping to obtain as many pairs of glasses as possible, and the glasses will be passed on to those in need.

So, all in all, a really good cause to mark on your calendar and not a reenactment of “The Purge.”

Probably next time I should read the whole press release before I start typing…
