BayLee Dunsmore is the real star.

She is the true power behind the throne, an indispensable manager who keeps several Coupeville High School athletic teams on course, and seems to do it all quite effortlessly.

Whether it’s football or basketball season, Dunsmore is the go-to person for anything and everything you need, whether as a player, coach or blogger.

Especially as a blogger.

I don’t know how many times she has gone above and beyond her normal duties to track down basketball score-books, snap pics and send them my way when the Wolves are deep on the road.

She is my lifeline, ignoring her own needs to text from buses bouncing through a dark night just so I can have all my info fresh and hot.

Like I said, BayLee is indispensable.

She’s also an extremely bright young woman, an honor roll regular, a hard worker and one of the nicest people you could possible imagine.

While the athletes tend to get a lot of the spotlight, nothing works properly without unsung stars like Dunsmore.

As she celebrates her cake day today, we just want to take a moment to say thank you (for everything you do and for being generally awesome in the first place) and wish BayLee the best of birthdays.

May your special day rock as much as you do, Miss Dunsmore.

Kalia Littlejohn, ready to tear up the pitch. (John Fisken photo)

Kalia Littlejohn was born to be a star.

The irrepressible Coupeville High School freshman, who celebrates a birthday today, probably popped out of the womb already looking around for the camera.

She is easily one of the most entertaining of a new wave of Wolf stars, a young woman who excels in every sport she picks up, but also one who seems to be thoroughly enjoying every moment.

Her heart belongs to soccer, and it only took Kalia a year to shatter the CHS single-season record for scoring.

Joining big sis Mia as a First-Team All-League selection after rattling home 10 goals, she helped the Wolves tie a program record for wins and is already hot on the hunt for bigger and better success.

A select team player, she was recently selected for a top-level training program.

In between, she has played some hoops, smashed a volleyball or two, run track and been the focus of about a billion photos.

There is no shyness in the lil’ Littlejohn (or she hides it really, really well) and she loves her photo ops.

Also, having traveled to several games with her and her parents, I can attest to the fact she’s witty, smart and able to go off on eloquent rants on just about any topic.

There are several CHS freshmen with potential to be sports stars, and others who shine in the classroom and boppin’ through the real world.

Kalia is the rarity, a young woman who can, and probably will, conquer every world.

Happy birthday, Miss Littlejohn. I hope your day is as awesome as you are.

Many faces, much awesomeness from Madison "Mad Dawg" Tisa McPhee.

Many faces, much awesomeness from Madison “Mad Dawg” Tisa McPhee.

She can kick your butt in more ways than you can count.

The woman, the myth, the legend … track records fall before her and wild horses come to heel out of respect … she needs two last names, cause one isn’t enough when you’re this awesome.

Casting an epic shadow across the sports world, where she ruled as a high school sprinter and hurdler, dabbled in soccer and volleyball, and continues to ride to multiple medals in any horse race you can put together, she is the chosen one, and it is her birthday.

She is Mad Dawg, the destroyer of nations, the quote machine unleashed, the best damn athlete to ever NOT be awarded Coupeville High School’s Athlete of the Year.

Which is fine, cause we all know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

I’m talking about Madison Tisa McPhee and you know it to be true.

Bow when she passes, cause that’s what you do when the legends walk by.
