Sophomore Connor Thompson set PRs in the 100 and high jump, while grabbing 2nd in the high jump and triple jump.
Coupeville girls’ track just put the rest of the state on notice.
The Wolves don’t have the depth to win dual meets, but the athletes they do have are coming for all your titles.
Displaying a burst of dominance Thursday at a four-team meet in Langley, Coupeville’s relay squad (Makana Stone, Sylvia Hurlburt, Lauren Grove, Marisa Etzell) cruised to big wins in both of its races.
Along the way, they threw down times that match virtually any other school in 1A.
After their performance against South Whidbey, Granite Falls and Archbishop Thomas Murphy, the Wolves have the second-fastest 4 x 200 time in their class and the fourth-fastest in the 4 x 100.
Just for good measure, Stone added a third title, zipping past all comers in the 200.
On the boys side of things, sophomore Mitchell Carroll was the biggest star on the day, nipping teammate Connor Thompson to claim first in the triple jump.
