Her spikes hit fast, but her stat keepers move slowly.
The Lyla Stuurmans Appreciation Society finally got an update Wednesday, with the Skagit Valley College volleyball number crunchers finishing counting on all their fingers and toes to add up what the Cardinals spikers accomplished this past weekend.
While playing at the Lane Crossover Tournament in Oregon Friday and Saturday, SVC captured one win in four matches, with two of the losses coming at the end of five-set donnybrooks.
That leaves the Cardinals at 6-6 on the season heading into a road match against Douglas College Thursday afternoon.
Stuurmans was at the center of things during the weekend tourney, with the former Coupeville High School Athlete of the Year winner recording 23 kills, four assists, 30 digs, 12 block assists, three service aces, and 32 points.
On the season the former Wolf, now a college sophomore, has racked up 74 kills, six assists, 14 service aces, 114 digs, five solo blocks, 22 block assists, and 104 points.
