The ran to glory on Orcas Island.
Fresh off the ferry, the Coupeville High School cross country squad dominated at a four-school meet Wednesday, claiming individual and team honors.
Wolf freshman Anna Powers and sophomore Cyrus Sparacio topped all runners on the 5,000-meter course, with senior Ivy Rudat and freshman Henry Purdue each claiming third place finishes.
That sparked CHS to first place finishes in the team standings, with the boys holding off Friday Harbor, while the girls strolled to victory.
Fellow Northwest 2B/1B League rivals Concrete, Orcas, and Friday Harbor joined Coupeville at the meet.
Now the Wolves will have a week to get ready to defend their home turf, as they return to action September 30 when they host an eight-team meet at Fort Casey State Park.
