The winners are jumping off her fingers.
Raining down 10 kills Wednesday night, Coupeville grad Lyla Stuurmans helped lift the Skagit Valley College women’s volleyball squad to a straight-sets win over visiting Shoreline.
Claiming their fourth win in their last five matches, the Cardinals pounded their foes 25-11, 25-13, 25-10 to get to 9-7 on the season.
Stuurmans, a former CHS Athlete of the Year winner who is now a college sophomore, added nine digs, a service ace, and 11 points to the stat sheet to go with her collection of spikes.
For the season, the ever-springy one has racked up 95 kills, six assists, 15 service aces, 147 digs, five solo blocks, 25 block assists, and 127.5 points.
Skagit returns to action Friday, when it hosts Edmonds, before traveling to Whatcom October 7.
The second of those matches will reunite Stuurmans with her former Coupeville teammate, Mia Farris, who anchors the Orcas.
