Cross them off the schedule.
Friday Night Lights will dim in Cow Town this week, as Crosspoint Christian has bailed on its planned trip to Mickey Clark Field to square off with the Coupeville High School boys’ soccer squad.
The move is being made because of District 2 shuffling its playoff schedule, which has forced Crosspoint to move a league game to the spot previously slotted for the journey to Whidbey Island.
Because of the postseason hurtling into view the non-conference tilt will not be rescheduled said CHS Athletic Director Willie Smith.
That leaves the Wolves, who sit at 8-3-1, with two regular season games left — Wednesday, October 21 on the road in Bothell against Providence Classical Christian, then at home October 28 against two-time defending state champs Orcas Island.
The matchup with Crosspoint was scheduled to be Senior Night for CHS soccer, but that ceremony — honoring Sam Richards, Sage Arends, and Solomon Rudat — will now happen before the Orcas game.
