We send you live to the streets of Coupeville, where intrepid photographer Shelli Trumbull is on the scene, clicking away and capturing the sights and sounds of Coupeville High School’s 2nd Annual Homecoming Parade.

For members of Wolf Nation who couldn’t be on Main Street today, you’re welcome.

And the last photo? That’s not a Shelli shot, but features CHS boys’ tennis coach Ken Stange, celebrating his win as the Duke of Homecoming — a title he won with a dance routine that recalled the best of Patrick Swayze.

Dinner is on the house for Josh Bayne.

The Coupeville High School sophomore was selected Wednesday by the Booster Club as the second Star of the Week for the CHS fall sports season. His name and picture will be on display at Applebee’s and he’ll get a gift certificate to the casual dining restaurant.

Following in the footsteps of netter Aaron Curtin, Bayne was honored for his two-touchdown, two-interception performance on the gridiron last Friday against Orcas Island. Starting at quarterback for the first time as a varsity player, he helped lead the Wolves to a 47-14 victory, their first win after four tough losses.

And, oh yes, Coupeville won 47-14. So that was nice, also.

First he went undefeated. Now his name is up in lights and he’s getting some free chow.

Wolf netter Aaron Curtin capped a week in which he went 4-0 on the hard courts by being named as the Coupeville High School Booster Club’s inaugural Star of the Week.

The Booster Club is teaming with Applebee’s on a community connections program, said Booster Club bigwig Christy Kellison, and plans to honor a different player each week. That athlete will get their name on Applebee’s reader board, their picture will hang in the restaurant for a week and they will receive a gift certificate.

Aaron was selected for his outstanding week on the court,” Kellison said. “Way to go, Aaron!”

Curtin should take the honor in stride, said his tennis coach, Ken Stange.

“He was the only varsity player who could boast about an undefeated week,” Stange said. “But he didn’t boast about it though.”

That’s fine. Everyone else in town can do it for him.
