Coupeville grad Kyle King, a five-time state track and field champ during his Cow Town days, continues to run at the head of the pack.

Competing in the London Big Half Sunday, the current Marine Corps Major hit the tape 29th in a field of 17,876 finishers, covering the 13.1-mile course in one hour, nine minutes, and 50 seconds.

He was the third-fastest American in the field.

Britain’s Kadar Omar Abdullahi claimed top honors in 1:01:51, while Scotland’s Eilish McColgan returned to competition after sitting out five months with a fractured leg to earn the women’s title in 1:10:54.

King ran as part of the All-Marine team at the event, which beat its British rivals from both the Royal Navy and Royal Marines as part of the Warriors Across the Sea competition.
