She still sparkles in the spotlight.

Former Coupeville three-sport star Savina Wells continues to dazzle on the hardwood, though these days she suits up in the Sunshine State.

Now a junior at Fernandina High School in Florida, Ulrik and Izzy’s “little” sister led the Pirates basketball squad in scoring, rebounds, and blocked shots this season.

Playing in 20 of her team’s 22 games, Savina racked up 250 points, snatched 175 rebounds, and rejected 50 shots.

She also tallied 27 steals and five assists for a Pirates team which finished 12-10, getting knocked out in the second round of the district tourney.

Savina began her high school hoops career as an 8th grader in Coupeville, scoring 59 points during a Covid-shortened season.

After adding 74 more as a freshman, she and the Wells family moved South, where she popped for 160 points as a sophomore during her Florida debut.

During her Cow Town days, Savina was a vital part of a tight-knit, talented group of young women who excelled in softball, basketball, volleyball, and track and field.

Both of her older siblings graduated from CHS after also playing multiple sports for the Wolves.

As Coupeville High School prepares to celebrate 50 years of girls’ basketball, one of its brightest stars from the past is currently tearing up the hardwood in Florida.

Savina Wells, who played two years of varsity hoops for the Wolves, and still sits 88th on the career scoring chart, is currently a junior in Fernandina Beach.

She leads the Pirates in scoring (12.8 points a night), rebounds (9.6), and blocked shots (2.2), as well as snatching a steal per game.

Fernandina Beach is 4-5 on the season and hits the mid-point of a 20-game schedule with a clash Thursday against Yulee.

Savina, following in the footsteps of older siblings Ulrik and Izzy, attended Coupeville schools and excelled in multiple sports, from softball to track and field.

The youngest of Lyle and Katy’s children made her varsity basketball debut as an 8th grader, during a Covid-shortened season.

Savina poured in 59 points that year, placing her #2 on the team, then came back around to score 74 as a freshman.

With 133 points in the books, her Coupeville numbers were frozen after a family move to the Sunshine State.

Though, hope never dies for some bloggers.

I mean, if Caleb Meyer came back around for his senior season, there’s always a chance Savina returns to Washington state for her final high school campaign.

Right?? Hello?? Is this thing on??

Anyways…

Back in reality, barring a miracle return, the Wells family combined to put up 489 points during their Coupeville days.

Izzy led the way with 204, while Ulrik banged home 152 before the duo graduated from CHS.

She’s still touching the stars.

Former Wolf supernova Savina Wells capped an impressive first year in the Sunshine State with another standout track and field performance.

The Coupeville protege, now a sophomore at Fernandina Beach High School, claimed 4th place in the high jump at regionals after winning the event at districts.

Wells cleared the bar at four feet, 9.75 inches, narrowly missing out on an invitation to the state championships.

The younger sister of Ulrik and Izzy topped out this year at 5-00, which would put her two inches off the school record for girls, if she was still living in Coupeville.

Savina and her family, both those of the human variety and pug variety, moved from Washington state to Florida after her freshman year at CHS.

She has excelled as a volleyball, basketball, and track athlete at her new home, continuing a career of athletic excellence which began from the day she first walked.

During her time in Coupeville, the youngest of Lyle and Katy’s children was one of the best and brightest, from her little league softball and SWISH basketball days through her time as a middle school and high school athlete.

If she was still in Coupeville, she’d be two inches off the school record.

Of course, Savina Wells, onetime Wolf supernova, now lives in Florida, where she’s a sophomore at Fernandina Beach High School.

So, while her current accomplishments have no impact on the CHS track and field record board, her high-flying exploits still reverberate with her Whidbey fan club.

Wells cleared the high jump bar at an even five feet Thursday, tying her PR, to win a title at the district meet, and advance to regionals.

The CHS all-time mark for girls, set by Yashmeen Knox in 1999, is 5-02.

Wells has also vied in the long jump and 100 in her first season at Fernandina Beach, after delivering strong volleyball and basketball campaigns.

While growing up in Coupeville, Savina, younger sister of fellow Wolf stars Ulrik and Izzy Wells, was a marquee player in multiple sports.

Volleyball, basketball, softball, track and field, and doing cartwheels across the little league fields at Rhododendron Park — she was the undisputed queen.

And might have been referred to as “The Chosen One” in stories written at 2:00 AM by overly excitable bloggers.

Or at least that’s the rumor.

She had an immediate impact.

Coupeville native Savina Wells continues to rack up sizzlin’ stats while playing sports in Florida.

The sophomore sensation, coming off an auspicious debut as a volleyball spiker at Fernandina High School, kept the good times going while transitioning to the basketball court.

The former Wolf ace led the Pirates stat sheet during a 12-7 season, averaging 10.7 points and 8.3 rebounds a night.

Wells paced Fernandina Beach in both categories, while also topping her squad in both total rebounds (125) and blocked shots (21).

Her 160 points were second to the 172 banked in by senior Nevaeh Morris, but Wells played in 15 games, while her older teammate suited up for all 19 contests.

Wells also made off with 17 steals and tallied four assists for a Fernandina Beach team which played two games at the district tourney.

The Pirates opened the postseason with a 41-39 win over West Nassau Jan. 31, then were eliminated Feb. 1 in a 43-37 double-overtime thriller by top-seeded Andrew Jackson.

Now, Wells will wrap her first school year in the Sunshine State by joining the Fernandina Beach track and field team.

A multi-sport star in Coupeville since she could walk, Savina is the youngest of Lyle and Katy’s three children.

Older siblings Ulrik and Izzy both graduated from CHS after stellar athletic and academic careers, before the family moved to Florida after Savina’s freshman year.
