You can’t keep The Red Dragon from rumbling!
When Coupeville grad Teagan Calkins, a three-sport supernova in her Cow Town days, headed off to the University of Colorado Boulder, her original intent was to take a leave from sports.
Well, it was a brief leave.
While kickstarting her academics, Calkins also decided to try out for the Buffaloes club softball team, and to absolutely no one’s surprise, made the roster.
Now she and her new teammates are playing fall ball, showing up at invites and clashing with foes such as Michigan State, Illinois State, and Michigan.
Calkins, who was primarily a catcher at CHS, has been playing in the outfield for Colorado so far, bringing her trademark speed and willingness to tumble over outfield fences while snagging balls fully into play.
She’s also landed on Buff social media, where she made a stand on Instagram for good ol’ natural water as her game-day drink of choice.
