They’ve doubled their numbers.
With a second meet in the books, the Coupeville High School track and field team now has eight Wolves sitting somewhere in the top 10 for performances by all 1A athletes.
That’s up from four after the first round of competition.
Showing remarkable balance, the elite eight are split between four girls and four boys, with every class represented.
Seniors Jacob Martin, Lauren Grove and Mitchell Carroll are joined by junior Jacob Smith, sophomores Lindsey Roberts and Danny Conlisk and freshmen Maya Toomey-Stout and Mallory Kortuem.

Girls:
100 Hurdles — Lindsey Roberts (2nd) 16.30
4 x 100 — Lauren Grove, Maya Toomey-Stout, Mallory Kortuem, Roberts (6th) 53.33
Boys:
200 — Jacob Smith (6th) 23.61
800 — Danny Conlisk (10th) 2:10.96
