West coast, East coast, she’s dynamite in every venue.
Coupeville grad Chelsea Prescott had another well-balanced performance Tuesday, as she and the Medaille College volleyball team pushed a league heavyweight hard.
Alfred State College eventually escaped with a 25-20, 25-22, 25-17 win in Buffalo, but it wasn’t easy.
The victory lifts the Pioneers to 3-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play, 12-1 overall, while Medaille falls to 1-3, 4-11.
Prescott was everywhere on the floor Tuesday, piling up four kills, eight digs, two assists, two service aces, a solo block, and seven points.
Mavericks teammates Halle Bogas (eight kills), Baylee Romano (nine digs), and Haley Kennedy (17 assists) also had strong performances.
Alfred State, which has won eight straight, was led by Nayomie Ferrer (30 assists) and Karleigh Haines (15 digs).
Prescott, a freshman at Medaille, has started all 15 matches this season, playing in all 48 sets.
She’s racked up 77 kills, 116 digs, 15 aces, 10 assists, two solo blocks, six block assists, and 97 points.
Medaille returns to action this Saturday, Oct. 16, when it plays at the RIT Invitational.
The Mavericks are slated to face Nazareth College and tourney host Rochester Institute of Technology.
