They shoot, they score.
The Coupeville High School basketball teams combined to collect 228 donations during a holiday gift drive.
Everything will now be donated to the Holiday Help House, which will disperse gifts to families in Coupeville and Oak Harbor.
“It’s a great accomplishment, and shows how much our kids truly care for our community!,” said CHS Athletic Director Willie Smith.
With cookies on the line, the Wolf girls pulled out the win 124-104.
“In a close competition — and after much wailing and moaning and demand of multiple recounts — the girls came out on top!,” Smith said.
“Not sure what kind of cookies they’ll receive from the boys — raisin cookies is what I heard — but, if you see any of our basketball players, give them a hardy high-five and some kudos for a job well done!”
Congratulations to you Mr Smith.
