Makana Stone and the Baerum women’s pro basketball squad utterly destroyed Bergen Saturday in Norway, setting up a meeting Sunday with the undefeated league leaders.
The former Coupeville ace, who missed her team’s previous game with the flu, returned to the court to deliver a 14-point, 10-rebound performance Saturday, sparking Baerum to a 100-25 rout.
The team’s seventh-straight victory, if lifts Stone and Co. to 17-5 heading into Sunday’s royal rumble against Ulriken, which sits at 21-0.
Baerum wraps the regular season Mar. 26 with a game against Asker (16-7).
Saturday’s game tilted in favor of Stone and her running mates from the early going, as they scored the game’s first 10 points.
Up 23-7 by the first break, Baerum stretched the lead out to 39-11 at the half, then went on a torrid 31-1 tear across the third quarter.
Stone added two assists and two steals to her 14/10 double-double, while teammate Julie McCarthy matched Bergen by herself, pouring in a game-high 25 points.
On the season Andre Stone’s lil sis has racked up 396 points, 247 rebounds, 52 assists, 57 steals, and 11 blocks.
