The sound of squeaking shoes on gym floors is almost upon us.
The first day of practice for Coupeville High School basketball teams is next Monday, Nov. 17, with the first Wolf games set for Dec. 2.
CHS varsity head coaches Megan Richter and Brad Sherman, and their assistants will guide their squads through seasons which run through possibly March.
Currently the Wolf boys have 19 games on the schedule, with their female counterparts down for 18, with the boys (two tilts) and girls (three rumbles) both set to play in a holiday tournament.
Included in that are 10 games against Coupeville’s fellow Northwest 2B/1B League rivals, as the Wolves play 2B foes La Conner, Mount Vernon Christian, Orcas Island, and Friday Harbor twice, while squaring off with 1B schools Darrington and Concrete once.
Write everything down in pencil, as the Wolf girls are expected to add at least one more game, and winter weather can always play havoc with everything.
