Running at the sixth annual Mountain Loop Invitational Saturday, the Coupeville Middle School cross country squad placed seven runners in the top 10 and made their presence felt in the team scoring as well.
The Wolf girls, led by third place finisher Juniper Dotson, almost caught front-runner Centennial, with the Snohomish-based school edging CMS 36-43.
Granite was third, with Cedar Park Christian-Bothell in fourth.
On the boys’ side of things, Jesse Kehoe claimed a second place showing on the 1.67-mile course, with Coupeville finishing third in the team standings behind Centennial and CPC.
