The Wolves own the competition mats.

The Coupeville High School cheer squad rolled to a big win Wednesday in Puyallup, claiming first place in the co-ed division at the Cougar Climb.

The event was hosted by Cascade Christian Schools.

“All of high school this team has been a place for me to go to, to feel loved and accepted.”

Abbigail Bond was speaking for herself, but it’s a sentiment shared by the other four seniors on the Coupeville High School cheer squad.

“I love you all so much, and I wouldn’t be here without you,” added Miles Gerber, while Avery Williams-Buchanan offered “I have felt incredibly supported by my whole team, family and friends.”

One team, one dream — a loud ‘n proud squad keeping spirits flying high in Wolf Nation.

“We are … BIG RED!!”

Following in the footsteps of their heroes, Coupeville’s Junior Cheer participants — all 100 or so of them — lit up Mickey Clark Field last Saturday.

If history plays out as before, many of these young athletes will stick with the sport and one day join the CHS spirit squad themselves, keeping the circle of cheer going on and on.
