The Coupeville High School girls basketball squads hosted Orcas Island Thursday, and the sound of hoops lured in wanderin’ paparazzi John Fisken.

A compressed pandemic-era hoops season kicks off Tuesday, with the Coupeville High School girls starting a 12-game campaign on the road in Mount Vernon.

After that, the games fly fast and furious, with the season finale set for June 17.

As you prep for a month of hardwood action, an early look at the players wearing Wolf uniforms.

The uniforms say North and South Whidbey, but some of the players are from Central Whidbey.

So, thanks to that Coupeville-related loophole, we have glossy pics from a little league Majors baseball game in which both teams were the Mariners.
