Talent runs deep on the prairie.

The pics above and below capture Coupeville High School softball players as they prep for the playoffs, with the young Wolves boasting a 14-4 record.

The photos themselves come to us from Parker Hammons, a CHS student who continues to showcase a skilled eye for going deep to capture the passion and excitement beneath the action.

Coupeville and South Whidbey clashed on the softball diamond Friday, with the Wolves crushing their rivals 15-0 under blue skies.

Working along the edges of the field, wandering paparazzi John Fisken captured the pics seen above and below.

CHS/CMS coaching staff are offering two skills camps in early June, and if you register by May 20, you can guarantee yourself a camp t-shirt.

One camp is for grades K-6, the other for 7-12, and all the pertinent info can be found in the photo below.

The prairie was alive with the sound of diamond action once more.

Baseball and softball games returned to Coupeville Tuesday, after a week or so of the Wolves playing almost exclusively on the road.

Both CHS squads drilled visiting Orcas Island for key league wins, while wandering photographer John Fisken stayed busy hanging out in the high brush, clicking away.
