The stat keepers are ready for a new season.

The seasons, they are a changin’.

Fall sports officially ended Friday with Coupeville drilling Bellevue Christian 55-38 on the gridiron, and now we sit nine short days away from the first day of basketball practice on Nov. 17.

Actual high school hoops games start two weeks after that and stretch through Feb., with the Wolf girls’ and boys’ squads combining to play at home 19 times in 2014-2015, barring any postseason flavor filtering into the CHS gym.

Coupeville has 10 doubleheaders this season, with four of them at home. The first comes Friday, Dec. 3 when South Whidbey makes the stroll up-Island.

The Wolves and Falcons, despite no longer being league mates in the 1A/2A Cascade Conference, will stay play twice this season, once in Cow Town and once down in Langley.

Having moved into the new 1A Olympic League, CHS will face each of its new rivals — Klahowya, Port Townsend and Chimacum — three times apiece.

Gabe Wynn (John Fisken photo)

CHS sophomore Gabe Wynn was once a hoops stud at the middle school level. Who from this year’s crop of players will live up to his legend? (John Fisken photo)

The stains on the football uniforms haven’t even dried yet.

Still, the seasons roll on and today marks the opening of Coupeville Middle School basketball, with the Wolf boys up first.

Their season runs through mid-Dec., at which point the CMS girls inherit the courts.

The boys schedule, as it stands now, is below.

It never hurts to check the official school calendar at http://coupeville.tandemcal.com/, just to be sure things haven’t changed.

For home games, Mondays will be 7th grade JV, 8th JV, 7th varsity, 8th varsity. Wednesday games flip the order to be 8th JV, 7th JV, 8th varsity, 7th varsity.

For the uninitiated, prepare your rear for complete submission, as the bleachers in the CMS gym are rock hard and you’ll be lucky if the whole thing wraps up somewhere around three hours.

The schedule:

Mon-Nov. 3 @ Granite Falls
Wed-5 North Shore Christian
Wed-12 @ Langley
Mon-17 @ Lakewood
Wed-19 King’s
Mon-Dec. 1 @ Granite Falls
Wed-3 Sultan
Mon-8 @ North Shore Christian
Wed-10 Langley
