Ten times and counting.

Coupeville High School grad Makana Stone hit double-digits Tuesday, tabbed once again to the FocusHoops Team of the Week for her play on the hardwood.

The former Wolf, and current Loughborough University teammate Katie Januszewska, were among five players honored for their performances during Saturday’s Women’s National Basketball League playoff openers in England.

Stone, who finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, and three steals in a 72-63 win over Reading, came up huge in the fourth quarter.

Tossing in 11 points in the final frame, she led Loughborough on a 24-8 tear down the stretch, as the Riders turned a seven-point deficit into a convincing postseason win.

Now 13-5, Stone and Co. play CoLA Southwark in the WNBL semifinals this weekend, with a spot in the league title game at stake.

On the season, Coupeville’s progeny sits with 259 points, 224 rebounds, 33 assists, 57 steals and eight blocked shots.

She’s bona fide.

Coupeville grad Makana Stone was named to the National Basketball League Team of the Week Tuesday, the ninth time she’s received the honor this season.

The former Wolf, who’s playing for Loughborough University in England, was honored for her play Saturday in the regular-season finale, when she went for 20 points, 14 rebounds, and three assists in a 75-73 win over Nottingham Trent.

Stone netted three free throws in the final 12 seconds to lift the Riders to the come-from-behind win.

Loughborough, which is 12-5 overall, 12-3 with their American assassin in the lineup, open the single-elimination, eight-team NBL playoffs with a home clash against Reading May 15.

On the season, Stone sits with 240 points, 215 rebounds, 32 assists, 54 steals, and eight blocked shots.

Stop me if you’ve heard this story before.

Take Makana Stone, give her a basketball, and great things happen.

Yep, the Coupeville grad, coming off another standout performance Saturday in England, is once again the … focus … of FocusHoops writers.

After narrowly missing a triple double for the second-straight week, Stone has again landed on the Women’s National Basketball League Team of the Week.

The former Wolf went off for a team-high 14 points, while adding a game-best 11 rebounds and eight steals Saturday, sparking Loughborough University to a crucial 73-60 win over Cardiff Met.

With the victory, the Riders sit at 11-4 (or 11-2 with Stone in the lineup) and hold on to second-place in the 10-team league, trailing defending champ Ipswich, who they meet this weekend.

The first time the NBL’s top two teams clashed, Coupeville’s progeny banked in the game-winner to propel Loughborough to an upset win.

Stone has been tabbed to the Team of the Week eight times during her debut British campaign, winning Player of the Week three times.

Right back where she belongs.

Coupeville grad Makana Stone has been almost a fixture on the National Basketball League Team of the Week in her first season playing basketball in England, a proper reward for her titanic two-way play.

And boom, another Tuesday rolls around, and there is she again.

This time out Stone, who reps Loughborough University these days, is being honored for a near triple-double thrown down this past Saturday in a win over Thames Valley.

The former Wolf racked up 13 points, 15 rebounds, and nine steals, while hitting a big bucket late to seal the victory for a Rider squad which is 10-4 overall, 10-2 with Stone in the lineup.

In a nice twist, one of the other honorees is sweet-shooting Mady Burdett, Stone’s former running mate for four sizzlin’ seasons at Whitman College.

Burdett now plays for Nottingham Trent and rippled the nets for 26 points, including six three-balls.

On the season, Stone sits with 185 points, 177 rebounds, 26 assists, 44 steals, and seven blocks.

Loughborough, which has four regular-season games left on its schedule, returns to action this Saturday, April 24, when it scraps with league cellar-dweller Cardiff Met.

Another week, another honor for Coupeville’s Makana Stone.

Like clockwork.

Every week, FocusHoops selects five female players from the National Basketball League in England and honors them for their on-court achievements.

Coupeville’s Makana Stone has been a regular presence on the weekly team — even being tabbed Player of the Week three times — and this time around, she’s right back in her comfort zone.

Despite playing just 22 minutes Saturday, thanks to Loughborough University annihilating winless BA London 76-42, the former Wolf managed to put up some nice stats on the hardwood.

While Stone normally stays on the floor for close to the full 40 minutes, with the Riders up 44 points at one point, coach Quintero Cano seized the opportunity to give his bench substantial playing time.

Coupeville’s progeny used her time well, however, dropping in 12 points, snatching a game-high eight rebounds, dishing out four assists, and making off with three steals.

Stone hit on 85% of her shots in the paint.

On the season, Loughborough is 9-3 overall, 9-1 with the former Cow Town resident anchoring its lineup.

Through her 10 games, Stone sits with 168 points, 155 rebounds, 24 assists, 34 steals, and five blocks.
