“I am so grateful for everything I have gained from this sport.”

As she and her fellow 12th graders were honored on Senior Night Friday, Coupeville High School cheerleader Alysia Burdge was (almost) closing a door on a long-running legacy.

She’s the third member of her family to work the sidelines at CHS football and basketball games and will be the fourth sibling to graduate from the school.

As Burdge and her compatriots celebrated a big win Friday, they did so in the same way they always approach their job — by being loud ‘n proud.

Pamela Nation came out big time to support their star, and her fellow seniors.

They rock the stadium, in good times and bad.

Through big wins and tough losses, the Coupeville High School cheerleaders remain the most vibrant force in Wolf Nation, revving up the crowd and providing the beat at football games.

The pics seen above and below, which come to us from a variety of photographers, capture Jennifer Morrell’s squad on the big stage.

The spirit is strong with them.

The next generation of cheerleaders was front and center Friday night as Coupeville High School hosted South Whidbey in the annual Battle for the Bucket.

A junior cheer performance at halftime featured more than 100 elementary school students in K-5.

One young woman was supporting both sides.

Brynna Drake, younger sister of current Wolf volleyball star Lexis and former CHS football giant Jaje, is always loud and proud at Coupeville games.

But Friday she was also cheering on Cousin Jonathan Rookstool, who plays for the Falcons gridiron team.

CHS/CMS Principal Geoff Kappes shows off snazzy new duds. (Sylvia Arnold photo)

It’s a piece of clothing so special, it’s been 125 years in the making.

With Coupeville High School set to hit a major milestone when the calendar flips to 2025, the Spirit of Cheer Booster Club is hard at work to promote it.

They’ve produced an exclusive black-on-black hoodie which celebrates the upcoming 125th anniversary of CHS, with plans to have a long sleeve t-shirt ready for basketball season.

The hoodie sells for $45, with the money going to help the booster club award scholarships to graduating seniors headed to college or trade school.

You can buy one at home football games — the Wolves host South Whidbey Oct. 11 and Winlock Oct. 25.

The SOC is sharing space with the Coupeville Booster Club, and their table is right in front of the bleachers.

Or, if you can’t get to a game in person, you can use the info found in the pic below to buy one that way.
