Julia Borges

Julia Borges waves goodbye to the 2015 portion of the 2015-2016 school year.

It was their final performance before the winter break, and they slayed it.

Going out on top Friday, the Coupeville High School cheer squad tore up the joint with their halftime show, while still finding time (and vocal energy) to be appropriately loud ‘n proud all night as they cheered on the Wolf boys’ hoops squad to a win over Concrete.

The photos above, courtesy travelin’ photo man John Fisken, capture a bit of the flavor from the Wolves’ halftime show.

Cheerleaders, camera. Camera, cheerleaders.

Travelin’ photo man John Fisken clicked away merrily Wednesday as CHS hosted a season-opening basketball doubleheader, but not all the photos made it from his camera to my computer … until now.

The pics above capture the Wolf cheer squad in brief moments of rest, as they were on their feet and hard at work the other 99.2% of the night.

You can’t tell the players without a roster.

And, since the Coupeville High School winter cheer squad doesn’t have numbers on their uniforms, we’re going a step further and giving you a photographic look at all 10 Wolves.

That way you’ll know who’s who before the eternally loud ‘n proud squad hit the courts for the first home basketball games Wednesday night.

The roster, which is cut down from a 30+ girl football cheer squad, is actually a big step up from last year, when only five girls were full-time cheerleaders.

Leading the way for CHS cheer coach Cheridan Eck are captains Jovanah Foote and Robin Cedillo.

Also hitting the hard-court sidelines will be Heather Nastali, Gaby Halpin, Mckenzie Meyer, Kaela Hollrigel, Julia Borges, Claire Mietus, Julie Bucio and Natasha Estes.

Burdge

Burdge sucks Naika Hallam into her selfie game.

Two rules.

One, cheerleaders like to take photos, and two, photos of cheerleaders gets a lot of page hits.

So we’re going back to the well for a second time today, with more pics featuring the Coupeville High School cheer squad as it spent the day taking part in Spirit Day at the University of Washington.

And a big thank you to all the Wolf cheerleaders and coaches who sent me photos today.

You are all the real MVPs.
