They’re back.
It was only a short time ago that the Whidbey Islanders GU18 select soccer squad finished off a spectacular late-season run by going undefeated in its final nine games.
Now, the team, which brings together players from Coupeville, Oak Harbor and South Whidbey, is back, with a few additions and a couple of subtractions.
Practice starts in late May and the new-look Islanders will take to the competitive pitch under coaches Sean LeVine and Scott Rosenkranz with a tournament in Tukwila in June.
With a roster dominated this go-round by seniors-to-be, the Islanders will play in three college showcase tourneys.
They’ll also pick up some other tournaments along the way, play in the State Cup and kick off their regular winter season after the high school season plays out in the fall.
