Let’s get physical (and sign some papers)!!

The gym will be hopping Thursday.

In preparation for the start of fall sports, a Middle School/High School Sports Day will run 12-8 PM in the CHS gym complex.

Sports paperwork and payments will be accepted until 6 PM in the high school gym, while physicals will be offered until 8 PM in the middle school gym.

Cost for physicals is $45, with all proceeds going to the Coupeville Booster Club’s scholarship fund.

It’s time to start seriously thinking about fall sports.

The calendar still says summer, but the first marker heralding a new year of school sports is fast approaching.

This Thursday (Aug. 11) brings the CMS/CHS Sports Sign Up Day, which will run from noon-6 PM in the Coupeville High School gym.

Athletes and their parents can take care of registration and fees while getting schedules.

In a change from previous years, there won’t be any physicals offered that day.

All athletes need to have an updated physical prior to the start of practice to be eligible to participate.

High school football is first up, starting practice Aug. 17.

Girls soccer, boys tennis and volleyball start Aug. 22, while middle school volleyball and football begin practices Sept. 6.

Fall sports approach — faster than you think.

Practice kicks off Aug. 20 for football and Aug. 25 for tennis, soccer and volleyball, but there’s a huge deadline coming up in just two days.

If you’re planning on playing a sport at Coupeville High School, you need to get your buns to the CHS gym this Thursday between 12-6 PM and turn in paperwork and pay participation fees.

Wolf athletes also need an updated physical before the start of practice.

If you’re in need of one, call 678-2414 to set up an appointment. The physical fee is $40 and checks should be written to Yorioka Scholarship.
