Have a spare hour?

Wolf Moms are planning to host a car wash at Ebey Academy, with proceeds going to the fundraiser to save Coupeville High School’s Athletic Trainer position.

They have the equipment and the staging area — on SE Terry Road, right across from CHS — now they just need volunteers, adults and kids, willing to give a bit of time to the cause.

Christi Messner has set up a sign-up list, with three possible dates for the car wash.

Possibilities include this Saturday or Sunday, Aug. 12 and 13, or the following Sunday, Aug. 20, depending on which date draws the most interest from volunteers.

The athletic trainer position was a victim of budget cuts, but the school district has agreed to accept donations from the community to fund the invaluable position for the 2023-2024 school year.

Coupeville Athletic Director Willie Smith, the trainer’s direct supervisor, has confirmed the district would retain Wolf alumnus Jessica Caselden if funding is available.

The cost to fund the position for 23-24 is $8,600, with the ongoing fundraiser nearing $6,000 as of Thursday afternoon.

The primary driving force has been a GoFundMe, which can be found here:

It’s a squeaky-clean win-win.

Get your vehicle de-grimed at a car wash Saturday, June 3, and you can help Coupeville’s Scout Troop 4058 attend a bold hiking trip to New Mexico.

The crew of 13 scouts and their adult leaders are off to the famous Philmont Scout Ranch in late July for their adventure, which each member needing to cover $3,000 in travel expenses.

The car wash, set to go down in the parking lot at Coupeville’s Windermere Real Estate (5 South Main St.) kicks off at noon.

The minimum suggested donation is $10, but, if you’re feeling generous, let your wallet speak loudly.

Every dollar helps the scouts, who are heading to the home of the “Boy Scouts of America’s premier high adventure base.”

Philmont promises to “challenge scouts with more than 214 square miles of rugged northern New Mexico wilderness.

“Backpacking treks, horseback cavalcades, and training and service programs offer young people many ways to experience this legendary country” is their mantra.

Dirty cars help make the wheels on the bus go round and round.

Coupeville High School cheerleaders were out and about Saturday, conducting a car wash fundraiser, with the money raised going to help fund a bus to carry the team to road games.

We can’t vouch for how clean photographer John Fisken’s own ride may be, but the wandering cameraman did stop off and snap the pics seen above and below.
