It’s always good to plan ahead.

So, while fall sports at Coupeville Middle School don’t kick off until Sept. 6, here’s an advance look at the game schedules for Wolf volleyball and football.

It’s a six-game set for the gridiron giants and 10 for the spikers, and I’m pretty sure there’s at least one mistake.

As the schedule sits now, it shows the CMS volleyball squad playing Stevens twice, but both times at home, while they have home and away match-ups with all their other foes.

So, it’s likely one of those two tilts is really going to happen on the road, and someone just forgot to put an @ on the schedule.

To stay on top of things like that, keep an eye on the schedule at http://coupeville.tandem.co/

But, for today, here’s what things look like:

Football:

Thur-Sept. 21 Chimacum
Wed-Sept. 27 @ Sequim
Wed-Oct. 4 @ Forks
Wed-Oct. 11 Port Townsend
Wed-Oct. 18 Stevens
Wed-Oct. 25 @ Chimacum

Volleyball:

Wed-Sept. 20 @ Sequim
Mon-Sept. 25 @ Port Townsend
Thur-Sept. 28 Stevens
Mon-Oct. 2 Forks
Thur-Oct. 5 @ Chimacum
Mon-Oct. 9 Sequim
Mon-Oct. 16 Stevens
Wed-Oct. 18 @ Forks
Mon-Oct. 23 Chimacum
Wed-Oct. 25 Port Townsend

Casie Dunleavy

CMS 7th grade coach Casie Dunleavy tries out some mock outrage, though, in her heart, she knows her team is amazing.

Naps are great.

Probably not a good idea when you’re planning to cover middle school volleyball live, and sleep right through actually leaving the house to go attend said match, but it happens.

In my defense, I was up early to do work for the Help House in Oak Harbor, and thought I’d catch a few moments in the middle.

Four hours later I come back to the world, at which point the Coupeville Middle School spikers have already dismantled visiting Port Townsend … from what I was told by people who actually showed up.

Anyway, here’s some lovely photos from previous matches that we haven’t seen before, and call it even.

Me? I’m going back to bed.

Spikes were flying, reputations were being forged and cameras were clicking.

All in all, Thursday was a busy day, as the Coupeville Middle School volleyball squads invaded the high school gym to face off with Stevens.

Along for the ride was travelin’ photo man John Fisken, who provides us with the pics above.
