They’re the heart of Wolf Nation

They rock the stadium, in good times and bad.

Through big wins and tough losses, the Coupeville High School cheerleaders remain the most vibrant force in Wolf Nation, revving up the crowd and providing the beat at football games.

Tomorrow’s cheer stars shine today

The spirit is strong with them.

The next generation of cheerleaders was front and center Friday night as Coupeville High School hosted South Whidbey in the annual Battle for the Bucket.

A junior cheer performance at halftime featured more than 100 elementary school students in K-5.

One young woman was supporting both sides.

Brynna Drake, younger sister of current Wolf volleyball star Lexis and former CHS football giant Jaje, is always loud and proud at Coupeville games.

But Friday she was also cheering on Cousin Jonathan Rookstool, who plays for the Falcons gridiron team.

Cheerleader car wash set for Saturday

Want to bring the sparkle and shine back into your life?

Swing by Ebey Academy this Saturday, Sept. 28 between 10:00 AM-2:00 PM, and let the Coupeville High School cheerleaders wash your ride.

The car wash fundraiser will help the Spirit of Cheer Booster Club purchase safety equipment and spirit gear, as well as provide scholarships.

Suggested donation is $15 for a full car wash, and Ebey Academy is located at 140 SE Terry Rd.

A new contender has entered the arena.

As the 2024-2025 school year kicks off, Coupeville High School yearbook photographers fan out to snap pics.

Some are grizzled vets, some are new — at least to having their pics run on Coupeville Sports.

David Somes is one of the latter ones, and the photos seen above and below, which come from a recent home football game, mark his debut of having his pics poached by the bloggers of the world.

The Coupeville High School cheer squad has led the way at two home football games this season, keeping the beat going through good times and rough times.
