All your info.

Get ready for spike season.

Wolf Pup volleyball launches in early April, giving Coupeville girls in grades 3-5 a chance to learn drills, play games, and rub elbows with high school stars and coaches.

“We are very excited to continue our tradition of introducing eager players to the fundamentals of the sport as well as an early love of the game!” said CHS coach Cory Whitmore.

The Wolf spiker guru is quick to note these are “low-stress, introductory practices” and coaches will provide extra help to make sure things go smoothly.

Since spring is a busy time, they are willing to work to accommodate schedules.

That can include working with those players who need to leave early, arrive late, or miss some of the days.

Also, coaches offer an adult-led walking group which will escort players from the elementary school to the high school gym each Tuesday and Thursday.

“We’re happy to get players safely where they need to go,” Whitmore said.

“There should be a number of faces you’ll recognize.”

When he wants me to ignore the name of the blog, which starts with the word COUPEVILLE, that’s usually how Diet Coke-fueled camera clicker John Fisken begins his pitch.

And yes, I do recognize Cory Whitmore, who doubles as an Oak Harbor High School teacher and Coupeville High School volleyball coach.

Plus, a couple of fans who call Cow Town home, and a couple of other spikers who we associate with all things Central Whidbey.

But what I also see are a lot of Wildcats who should be talking to their parents about transferring to Coupeville to become Wolves.

I mean, as someone who has a purple-tinted diploma from OHHS, I can tell you — that’s no way to go through life, son.

With that said, I then stumble across the word “free photos,” and promptly lose all my ideals.

Such is life.

Fine. Oak Harbor stuff on a pro-Coupeville web site. Cats and dogs living together next.

Nothing is sacred anymore.

Oh, and those free photos I mentioned? To see many, many more, pop over to:

She finished in the spotlight.

Coupeville High School senior Grey Peabody brought her prep volleyball career to a close Sunday, playing in the All-State match in Burlington-Edison.

Wolf coach Cory Whitmore and her high school teammates were on hand to watch the middle blocker in action.

Repping #8 for the final time, Peabody closed a stellar four-year career which saw her earn All-Conference honors and help guide her team to state as a senior.
