Julia Borges

Julia Borges waves goodbye to the 2015 portion of the 2015-2016 school year.

It was their final performance before the winter break, and they slayed it.

Going out on top Friday, the Coupeville High School cheer squad tore up the joint with their halftime show, while still finding time (and vocal energy) to be appropriately loud ‘n proud all night as they cheered on the Wolf boys’ hoops squad to a win over Concrete.

The photos above, courtesy travelin’ photo man John Fisken, capture a bit of the flavor from the Wolves’ halftime show.

Cheerleaders, camera. Camera, cheerleaders.

Travelin’ photo man John Fisken clicked away merrily Wednesday as CHS hosted a season-opening basketball doubleheader, but not all the photos made it from his camera to my computer … until now.

The pics above capture the Wolf cheer squad in brief moments of rest, as they were on their feet and hard at work the other 99.2% of the night.

Best way to kick off a new season?

Portrait night.

With basketball returning to the CHS gym Wednesday, the Wolf winter cheer squad made its debut on the sidelines as well, and travelin’ photo man John Fisken was there to document the proceedings.

By the time he was done clicking, we had these extra-glossy, suitable-for-framing photos of the 10 young women who are repping the red and black this season.

To all the mamas and grandmas out there, you’re welcome.

You can’t tell the players without a roster.

And, since the Coupeville High School winter cheer squad doesn’t have numbers on their uniforms, we’re going a step further and giving you a photographic look at all 10 Wolves.

That way you’ll know who’s who before the eternally loud ‘n proud squad hit the courts for the first home basketball games Wednesday night.

The roster, which is cut down from a 30+ girl football cheer squad, is actually a big step up from last year, when only five girls were full-time cheerleaders.

Leading the way for CHS cheer coach Cheridan Eck are captains Jovanah Foote and Robin Cedillo.

Also hitting the hard-court sidelines will be Heather Nastali, Gaby Halpin, Mckenzie Meyer, Kaela Hollrigel, Julia Borges, Claire Mietus, Julie Bucio and Natasha Estes.

“Our photo game? Our photo game is strong!” (Eck photo)

The Wolves are on the prowl in the big city.

With the high school football season just wrapped, Coupeville’s cheer squad pulled itself out of bed at the crack of dawn Saturday to head to Seattle.

Their destination? The University of Washington, where they are joining a massive halftime performance during tonight’s Husky game against Utah.

UW Spirit Day attracts more than 500 high school and junior high school cheerleaders.

As they prepared for their national debut (the game kicks off at 4:30 PM on Q13 Fox), the Wolves maintained a strong photo game, which they share with us in the pics above.
