The Wolf brotherhood. (Sophia Broderick photos)

Football, from a different angle.

Coupeville High School senior Sophia Broderick makes her debut here on the blog, with a series of glossy snaps captured at Thursday’s Senior Night game.

A mix of gridiron action, cheer pics, and off-field happenings, they make for an auspicious debut.

Chase won the chase. Maybe.

As we hit Monday, there is still a chance the Coupeville High School football team will pick up a tenth game, adding a matchup with another school also sitting on the outside of the playoffs.

So, until final word comes from Wolf coach Bennett Richter, we can’t say for sure the season is 100% done.

With that in the back of our minds, a look at season-to-date scoring stats for CHS shows sophomore Chase Anderson leading the way.

He sits alone atop four scoring categories, while being tied for the fifth.

One more peak pitch performance, captured in peppy pics.

The Coupeville High School co-ed JV soccer squad closed its season Saturday, clashing with visiting Friday Harbor under sunny skies.

While the second team played, Wolf varsity booters, and coach Robert Wood, pulled double duty, working as refs and sideline strategy planners.

Along for the ride was wanderin’ paparazzi John Fisken, who delivers the snaps seen above and below.

We knew her before you knew her.

Newcomers to Cow Town see Jenny Porter as a full-time firefighter and a Wolf Mom to three kids, two of whom are athletic stars at Coupeville High School.

But those in the know remember her brewing up beans at Miriam’s Espresso back in the day.

Now, wearing a lot more equipment and turning up the heat quite a bit, Porter spends her days battling blazes, such as the controlled burn seen in the pics above and below.

This fire, happening in Oak Harbor, was a training exercise Saturday, as area firefighters cleared a house from land which will one day house Oak Harbor Fire District Station 82.

They’re on a first name basis with the back of the soccer net.

As the season unwound, 10 different Coupeville High School soccer players scored, with one — Angel Partida — achieving the feat in both varsity and JV games.

Of the players to notch a score, seven of 10 can return to the CHS pitch next season, and they combined to net 17 of those 30 goals.

Heading for the exit?

Cole White, Hank Milnes, and Nick Guay.

For everyone else, the offseason looms, and with it, the promise of more work, more success, and many more goals.

Angel Partida notched both varsity and JV goals.

Final scoring stats:

Varsity:

Ezra Boilek – 8
