Bree Dagineault

Sunglasses in place, Bree Dagineault ignores the glowing orb in the sky and focuses on the fuzzy tennis ball bouncing her way.

Sage Renninger

With a mere flick of her wrist, Sage Renninger deposits another winner in the bank.

Bailey

Rabid tennis fans (l to r) Donna, Mollie and McKayla Bailey take a moment away from watching their favorite player (McKenzie Bailey) to snap a family photo.

Payton

Payton Aparicio unleashes Hell. Or a really nice serve. One of the two…

Kameryn St Onge

Silhouetted against a chain-link background, Kameryn St Onge displays laser-like focus as she and doubles partner Maggie Crimmins roll to a win.

The weather was nice and the tennis even nicer.

Taking advantage of a truly sunny, dare I say warm, spring afternoon Monday, the Coupeville High School girls’ tennis team rolled to a big win under the ever-clicking eye of the wanderin’ cameraman.

Airborne and elastic, CHS goalie Connor McCormick covers the entire net.

Friday was lovely.

Sunny, no rain, maybe just a ripple or two of breeze across the prairie.

So, of course, there was absolutely, positively no spring sports games scheduled for today.

As opposed to Wednesday, when Coupeville High School softball waged war while being lashed by gale force winds for three hours.

Such is life for athletes playing outside on a rock in the water in March.

Since we didn’t have any live action to report on, here are a collection of photos showcasing all five CHS sports teams, just to remind you what they look like when in action.

Why? Why not.

Jordan Ford

Jordan Ford (right) with the gorgeous block … and a foul, as the ref whistled him despite overwhelming photographic evidence to the contrary.

Abby and Kyla

CHS sophomores Abby Parker (left) and Kyla Briscoe show up to support their fellow Wolf athletes.

Dante

Dante Mitchell forms an unbreakable wall of defensive excellence.

Luke

Mid-game, stat man Luke Merriman, thinking about all the three-balls he and Gabe Eck (left) will be hitting next year, gets a little thirsty.

Hunter Smith

Hunter Smith can already taste the approaching collision, but he’s still gonna drop the bucket in anyway.

Ty Eck (left)

Making his varsity debut, freshman Ty Eck streaks into action.

Risen Johnson

One last rebound for Risen Johnson, who has provided non-stop thrills for Wolf fans the last two seasons.

The road came to an end Thursday for eight Wolves.

A playoff loss to visiting Bellevue Christian sent a senior-heavy Coupeville High School boys’ basketball squad to the exit.

But not before they provided travelin’ photo man John Fisken one more chance to capture some snappy pics of them in action.

The photos above, a mix of on and off court action, are courtesy him.

Hunter Downes

Hunter Downes is off to the track meet, as the Wolf JV employs a run-gun-and-stun offense.

Brian Shank

Andre Avila

Andre Avila, slicin’ ‘n dicin’ up in the skies.

Wiley Hesselgrave

Wiley Hesselgrave may never come back down.

Dante Mitchell

Dante Mitchell’s shot? So pretty the guy behind him can only nod and grin in approval.

The score wasn’t all that pretty, but the photos were.

Coupeville had a rough go of it Tuesday night, running into a Port Townsend squad that played as close to flawless as you could imagine.

But that didn’t stop wanderin’ photo clicker John Fisken from snagging some epic shots of the Wolves hard at work.

The pics above are courtesy him.

The action was intense, but the camera never (well, rarely) blinks.

Clicking away in between sips of Diet Coke, travelin’ photo whiz John Fisken snapped the photos above during Wednesday night’s Coupeville vs. Cascade Christian boys’ soccer rumble.
