Arms, legs … Katie Marti (15) has many weapons at her disposal. (Photo by JohnsPhotos.net)

One leg to rule them all.

The limb in question belongs to Coupeville High School senior Katie Marti, and she used it to pull off an unusual save/assist combo during a recent volleyball win.

Now, as the Wolves take their pristine 7-0 record to Eastern Washington to play Okanogan Friday night, that play is one of three hailed as a Play of the Week by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association.

CHS/CMS Principal Geoff Kappes shows off snazzy new duds. (Sylvia Arnold photo)

It’s a piece of clothing so special, it’s been 125 years in the making.

With Coupeville High School set to hit a major milestone when the calendar flips to 2025, the Spirit of Cheer Booster Club is hard at work to promote it.

They’ve produced an exclusive black-on-black hoodie which celebrates the upcoming 125th anniversary of CHS, with plans to have a long sleeve t-shirt ready for basketball season.

The hoodie sells for $45, with the money going to help the booster club award scholarships to graduating seniors headed to college or trade school.

You can buy one at home football games — the Wolves host South Whidbey Oct. 11 and Winlock Oct. 25.

The SOC is sharing space with the Coupeville Booster Club, and their table is right in front of the bleachers.

Or, if you can’t get to a game in person, you can use the info found in the pic below to buy one that way.

Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do when CJ Smith comes for you?

Maybe ask him for his autograph?

The Coupeville Sports Hall o’ Famer is back in the news, as his law enforcement career continues to blossom.

Smith, the oldest of Charlotte Young and Chris Smith’s three children, was sworn in as a deputy Monday with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Department.

The 27-year-old, who recently celebrated his first wedding anniversary with fellow former Wolf superstar Sylvia (Hurlburt) Smith, previously worked for the Mercer Island Police Department for four years.

CJ arrived in Coupeville midway through his sophomore year after a family move, and immediately became one of the linchpins for Wolf sports teams.

He played football, basketball, and baseball at CHS, with his biggest impact on the diamond, where he pitched the Wolves to their first league title in 25 years.

“Captain Cool” went on to play baseball at Green River College alongside lil’ bro Hunter, where he earned his degree, and also pulled a stint as JV diamond coach for his alma mater.

CJ’s swearing in comes on the heels of sister Scout being hired as the new JV girls’ basketball coach at CHS.

Try to escape the iron grip of Riley Lawless? As if. (Photos by JohnsPhotos.net)

A mere 29 years ago, Sylvester Stallone stared into the camera while making Judge Dredd and intoned, “I am the law!”

And while it’s probably fairly unlikely that current Coupeville High School sophomore Riley Lawless has ever watched that 1995 “cinema classic,” he’s upholding Sly’s mantra.

Mainly by making sure no one, and I mean no one, gets away from his tackles on the gridiron.

As seen in the pics above and below, Lawless (and his Grip o’ Death) is one huge reason the Wolf defense has sparked CHS football to a 4-1 start this season.
