He’s here for the pins, and the clicks.

Coupeville High School senior Marquette Cunningham is a busy guy this winter.

While attending class at CHS, he and fellow Wolf Deven Ogden train, travel, and compete as wrestlers with South Whidbey since their home school doesn’t have its own mat program.

Also, when he’s not grappling, Cunningham pulls double duty as a photographer, snapping pics of his new teammates, such as the portraits captured above and below.

Our photographer is also ready to wage war on the wrestling mat.

Marquette Cunningham, man of many skills.

Marquette Cunningham is bridging the gap between Central and South Whidbey.

Along with fellow Coupeville High School student Deven Ogden, he’s traveling to Langley to compete as a wrestler this winter, taking advantage of an agreement between CHS and SWHS since the Wolves don’t have their own grappling program.

In between bouts, Cunningham, who shoots for the CHS Yearbook, is also staying busy as an intrepid photographer, snapping images of his new teammates as they toil on the mats.

He hits like a hammer, and snaps like a star.

When he’s not knocking heads on the football field, Coupeville High School senior Marquette Cunningham can often be found with a camera in hand, clicking away for the yearbook.

They’ll have to wait a bit.

Friday’s road trip to Granite Falls has been bumped by a day for the Coupeville High School football team.

Now the Wolves and Tigers will clash at 4 PM Saturday, and not 7 PM the night before, as originally planned.

The game pits an 0-2 CHS squad against a 2-0 Granite team which has yet to be scored upon.

The Tigers have opened with 47-0 and 42-0 wins over East Jefferson and Sultan, respectively.

Coupeville fell 25-7 on the road at Annie Wright to open the season, then were nipped 30-19 by Cascade (Leavenworth) in last Friday’s home opener.

The end is near.

The high school track and field season is down to its final three meets, with Coupeville set to compete at league, district, and (hopefully) state competitions over the next 26 days.

As the Wolves, and their many competitors, have battled this spring, the best times and distances across the state have been ever-changing.

One moment you’re in the top 10, the next you’re fighting to get back in, and on and on.

Each Monday we pause to take a look at the stats for athletes in the 2B classification and see how the Wolves compare with stars from other schools.

So, let’s do the dance again.

As the postseason run begins, here’s where Coupeville students pop up on the current top 10 lists on May 5:
