Never too late for parade pics.

Homecoming was a week ago, but a new batch of photos from Coupeville High School’s parade have just surfaced.

And we here at Coupeville Sports are all about raking in page hits for displaying glossy images.

So jump back in time seven days with me.

PS — I’m well aware the first photo is from the game itself, and not the parade.

PPS — Don’t worry about it, the other seven are, so that’s 87.5% parade pics in a story about parade pics. It’ll do.

Homecoming week is almost upon us.

The buildup to next Friday’s football clash between Coupeville and Forks begins Monday with the start of class competitions and continues through a parade and the game itself.

Day one brings with it “Class Colors,” though none of the four classes gets red, black, or white — Coupeville’s actual colors.

Instead, it’s yellow for freshmen, pink for sophomores, blue for juniors, and green for seniors.

OK…

Tuesday is “Country vs. Country Club,” followed by “Wacky Wednesday,” with Thursday all about paying tribute to “The USA” and Friday being “School Spirit.”

As the week plays out, there are two home games for CHS teams, both featuring volleyball, with fans asked to cram the stands in support of the Wolves.

Coupeville’s spikers host Concrete Tuesday on Dig Pink Night and Mount Vernon Christian Thursday, with both rumbles set to tip at 5:00.

Finally, the annual Homecoming parade is set to wind down Main Street and Front Street starting at 3:00 PM Friday, with the gridiron clash kicking off at 5:00 PM.

The dance, with the theme “A Night in Greece,” goes down Saturday at 8:00.

First, the big farewell. Then, the big game(s).

Coupeville High School baseball returns to the state playoffs Saturday, facing off with Toledo in Castle Rock, the first appearance for the Wolves at the big dance since 2014.

Win its opener, and CHS, which sits at 16-5 on the season, returns to the field later in the day to play Toutle Lake for a spot in the semifinals.

But, before they headed off on their long trek, the Wolves got a farewell from fellow students, teachers, coaches, parents, and hangers-on Friday, keeping alive a time-honored tradition.

First, they walked on by. Then they drove on by.

A day before graduation, Coupeville High School’s Class of 2022 participated in an assortment of time-honored traditions.

The Wolves, sporting their robes, strolled down to the elementary school, passing through the hallways where many of them got their start.

Then they hit the road for a car parade, before heading off to breakfast.

Along the way photo whiz kid John Fisken snapped the pics you see above and below.
