Mathusek gets some love from her spiker family.

And now I’m caught up.

Probably. Maybe. Possibly.

As we wrap up the fall sports season, and begin the pivot to winter and basketball, I’m shaking loose the final photos I have stashed away.

There’s a couple more still hanging round, but they’ll pop up as the final awards banquets are held.

For now, eight glossy John Fisken snaps from a volleyball season in which the 2019 Wolves tied the program record with 14 wins.

Why yes, since you asked, Lucy Sandahl did bring enough candy for everyone.

Emma Mathusek rolls out, ready to be amazing.

Smashing kills at the net or directing traffic from the back, Kylie Chernikoff is putting together a stellar season.

Vivian Farris is part of a talented group of CHS freshmen athletes who are already making an impact.

Undefeated and it feels so good.

It’s the hottest sports program in town.

Coupeville High School volleyball is nearly perfect this fall, with varsity (5-0), JV (3-1), and C-Team (3-0) combining for a sizzlin’ 11-1 record.

Three of those wins came Tuesday night, as the Wolves defended the honor of their home courts, swatting arch-rival South Whidbey.

As the wins played out, wanderin’ paparazzi John Fisken bounced between the CHS and CMS gym to capture a collection of pics, showcasing both on-court action and fan reaction.

Ariah Bepler finds his moment of Zen.

That moment when you realize just how many freakin’ laps there are in one of these distance races.

“Sweep the leg, Johnny, sweep the leg!!”

Sean Toomey-Stout’s track game is strong, his hair game even stronger.

There are a ton of Wolf moms who snap pics at Coupeville sports events, near and far.

But we can’t let Brian Vick and his “dad camera” get lost in the mix.

With daughters Willow and Raven and their CHS track and field teammates competing in Port Angeles Thursday, the proud papa was on scene and clickin’ away.

The snappy pics seen above are thanks to him.
