Oak Harbor firefighters head into the heart of the blaze. (Photos by JohnsPhotos.net)

It’s not all about sports.

Taking a break from athletics, photo whiz kid John Fisken wandered into a burning building to capture the Oak Harbor Fire Department at work.

The event was a training burn at SE Ely and Barrington, an operation which got rid of an eyesore of a house and gave firefighters valuable time in the middle of a blaze.

Fisken was fully geared up for the day, allowing him to get close to the action (within reason), as were city councilmen Bryan Stucky, Eric Marshall, and Shane Hoffmire.

The photos above and below capture CHS varsity tennis and softball players in action, but are just the tip of the iceberg.

No games, but plenty of photos.

With spring break having sprung, Coupeville High School sports teams are taking a few days off between competitions.

But, thanks to photo whiz kid John Fisken, you can fill at least 11.2 seconds of the down time perusing the photos seen above and below.

They come from Wolf tennis, track, softball, and baseball games, and you can practically feel the rain, wind, and cold temps of spring sports in each new image.

The bats were boomin’, the catcher’s mitt was poppin’, and the Wolves couldn’t be stopped.

As the Coupeville High School varsity softball squad shredded visiting Darrington Wednesday, wanderin’ photo snapper John Fisken did what he does.

The pics above and below are courtesy him, but there’s more where that came from.
