You can’t tell the players without a roster.

And, since the Coupeville High School winter cheer squad doesn’t have numbers on their uniforms, we’re going a step further and giving you a photographic look at all 10 Wolves.

That way you’ll know who’s who before the eternally loud ‘n proud squad hit the courts for the first home basketball games Wednesday night.

The roster, which is cut down from a 30+ girl football cheer squad, is actually a big step up from last year, when only five girls were full-time cheerleaders.

Leading the way for CHS cheer coach Cheridan Eck are captains Jovanah Foote and Robin Cedillo.

Also hitting the hard-court sidelines will be Heather Nastali, Gaby Halpin, Mckenzie Meyer, Kaela Hollrigel, Julia Borges, Claire Mietus, Julie Bucio and Natasha Estes.

Senior Nights are about the players, but it’s also about their families.

It’s a chance for moms and dads and relatives of all kinds to put a cap on years of watching daughters and sons play a sport.

It’s about speeches, like Kirsten Pelroy telling her teammates “I’ll miss being your energizer bunny,” and Jenn Spark thanking her longtime select coach, Sean LeVine, for “teaching me everything about the sport I love.”

And, it’s about the photos.

It’s always about the photos.

team

A group photo brings in a couple of out-of-uniform cheerleaders and Wolf football star Lathom Kelley.

The Coupeville High School cheer squad doesn’t mess around.

You put on even a JV game, and there will be at least 20 Wolves front and center and ready to work the sidelines, no matter the score or the weather conditions.

And while the entire CHS cheer roster wasn’t there Monday, enough of it was to raise the roof (if Mickey Clark Field had a roof) from the opening kickoff to the final whistle.

Like I said, they don’t mess around.

The biggest news seen here? The return of Jenn Spark (far right) who missed most of last year after a terrible injury.

girls

Like I said, not their first photo shoot…

Eventually, they played some soccer. And were pretty dang good at it.

But first things first for the Coupeville High School girls’ soccer squad on Day #1 of practice for a new season.

Running? Well, yeah, eventually…

But take one team blessed with athletes who enjoy posing for the camera, and one rovin’ photo man in John Fisken, and the first day of practice was all about the photo ops.

Then CHS coach Troy Cowan got control of his team again and they went back to work, content in the knowledge that they had, once again, won the internet.
