Off to Pasco they go!

But first, photo ops for the 12 Coupeville High School cross country runners headed East for Saturday’s 2B state championship meet.

The final trek begins.

Dodging late May raindrops in Cow Town Thursday, Coupeville High School track and field athletes hit the road and headed off to the heat of Yakima.

Awaiting the Wolves is the three-day 2B state championships at Zaepfel Stadium and a chance to join the exclusive list of CHS stars to bring home medals from the year’s biggest meet.

Time to show up and show out.

But first, time to marinate in the moment in front of local fans before being swept away by the sound of the wheels on the bus going round and round.

Coupeville runners (l to r) Kenneth Jacobsen, Malachi Somes, Carson Field, and Lyla Stuurmans will compete in distance races.

The two-woman wrecking crew is on their way to Yakima.

The return of the rain can’t dampen their enthusiasm.

One more road trip.

The Coupeville High School softball squad, which is soaring at 18-1 this season, boarded the bus Thursday for the trek to Yakima, and the 2B state tourney to be held there.

Before they committed to listening to the wheels on the bus go round and round, the Wolves were sent on their way by a large, enthusiastic band of supporters.

From fellow students to teachers and community members, the combined forces of Wolf Nation were loud ‘n proud in offering well wishes to the CHS slugger crew.

They’re on their way.

Carrying a 16-0 record, the Coupeville High School volleyball squad headed out of Cow Town Tuesday, with the bus aimed right at the SunDome in Yakima.

Awaiting them is the 2B state tournament, which runs Wednesday and Thursday.

First up is a match-up with Tonasket, then a rumble against either Mossyrock or Colfax.

But before the spikes and aces start flying, the Wolves got a send-off from school mates, parental figures, fans, and more, as seen in the pics above and below.

They’re Pasco-bound.

Well, not until very early Friday morning, but Coupeville High School cross country runners were hailed Thursday as they prep for the trip to the state meet.

The Wolves are sending their entire boys’ team and four female runners to the 2B championships, which go down Saturday.

With 11 harriers set to count in the standings, it’s the biggest collection to earn the trip since CHS revived its running program in 2017 after a two-decade shutdown.
