Train like a pro.

Former Coupeville High School basketball stars Makana Stone and Caleb Meyer will return to their old stomping grounds this summer to run basketball skills camps.

The former, who is now a Coupeville Middle School girls’ hoops coach, will be in the gym in June, while the latter will swing by CHS in July.

One generation, passing on basketball knowledge to the next.

The Coupeville High School gym was alive with the sound of squeaking shoes as former Wolf hoops stars Caleb Meyer and Hawthorne Wolfe helped lead a recent skills camp.

The event was run by NBC Camps and attracted a pack of future hardwood heroes.

The next generation is building for a bright future.

Twenty Coupeville Middle School girls showed up for three days, three hours each time, for a recent basketball skills camp.

The hoops event was run by CHS head coach Megan Richter, with help from middle school net guru Brooke Crowder and a group of former Wolf players.

“They worked so hard and improved so much,” Richter said of her future stars. “It was such a great experience for everyone.”

If you open the gym, they will come.

The Coupeville Youth Basketball Association held a two-day skills camp for kids in grades K-5, attracting nearly 60 players.

The event was broken down into two groups, with K-2 playing together and 3-5 taking the court after them.

High school and middle school coaches led the camp, while current CHS players assisted, creating a positive experience for players both young and (relatively) old.

“God’s Chosen Sport” calls to your children.

The Coupeville Youth Basketball Association is offering a skills camp for students entering grades K-5.

You need to be a Coupeville School District student to participate, and the event goes down June 27-28 in the CHS gym.

There will be two sessions, with grades 3-5 running from 1:00-3:00 PM both days, and K-2 going from 3:30-5:00.

Cost is $30 per student, and if you register by June 14, you guarantee your child a camp t-shirt.
