Prairie powerhouses are fired up

They make the noise that fires up Wolf Nation.

Coupeville High School cheerleaders put in the work day after day, honing their skills and prepping for both Friday Night Lights and upcoming competitions.

Football Fridays draw a crowd

If you play, they will come.

Coupeville and South Whidbey clashed in the annual Battle for the Bucket Friday night in Langley, drawing in a sizable number of fans supporting both schools.

There was even a bee or two (or 40,000…) hanging around the visitor bleachers, intent on joining the festivities.

Wolf cheerleaders lead food drive

Coupeville’s cheerleaders are leading the charge to feed their community.

The Wolf spirit leaders, working with the Spirit of Cheer Booster Club, are running a Back-to-School Food Drive to help the Gifts from the Heart Food Bank.

This is in response to word that Coupeville’s food bank is at an “all-time low,” and seriously in need of donations to continue its work.

Food can be dropped off at several locations, including the lobbies at Coupeville Middle/High School and Coupeville Elementary.

Other spots accepting donations include Peoples Bank, the Pacific Northwest Art School, and Living Hope Foursquare Church.

The Coupeville High School cheer squad lists 20 athletes on their season-opening roster, and the pics above capture a portion of those Wolves at the first football game.

From 8th graders through seniors, they’re an enthusiastic bunch, sure to be found front and center all fall.
