Every shot counts.

Pro Shot Shooting is returning to Coupeville High School for a clinic which would be invaluable for current and future Wolf stars.

The clinic, which will run from 1-4 PM Sunday, May 7, is open to CHS and CMS students, girls and boys, in grades 6-12.

Cost is $25 per player and each athlete should bring their own ball.

The clinic will feature shooting technique review, followed by shooting off the dribble and shooting off the catch.

“This is an opportunity for all players that attended the original clinic in the fall to come back in and get more instruction,” CHS girls basketball coach David King said. “A great refresher.”

“It’s also a great opportunity for players that couldn’t attend the original to come in and get some instruction this spring,” he added. “If you want to improve your shooting form, jump at this chance.”

Lead-off hitter Lauren Rose tops Coupeville in walks and is #2 in runs scored and #3 in stolen bases.

A stellar start begins at the plate.

The Coupeville High School softball squad has rolled out to an 8-1 start on the season, and a lot of the credit goes to the Wolf hitters, who are beatin’ the crud out of the ball.

Thanks to their coaching staff faithfully updating MaxPreps, we can give you a window into those stats.

PS — Softball is the only CHS spring sport that has stats online, so it’s not like I’m purposefully ignoring the other teams.

They’re just not as on top of the ball currently as the diamond queens.

The stats:

Friends forever.

Saturday was prime time.

The sun emerged, delivering a true spring-like day, the Wolf softball sluggers bashed Friday Harbor, cupcakes were eaten, flowers were given out to player’s moms and wandering photo man John Fisken made an appearance in Cow Town.

The photos above are courtesy him.

State meet veteran Lauren Grove is a vital part of two highly-successful Wolf relay units. (John Fisken photo)

Jacob Smith made his move.

Running a very strong race at the Cashmere Invitational Saturday, the Coupeville High School junior propelled himself into the Top 10 for boys who have run the 100 in 1A this season.

He’s the only Wolf to appear on the leaders list in two individual races, while sophomore Lindsey Roberts (100 hurdles and two relays) shows up three times total.

With Danny Conlisk sliding back in to the Top 10 in the 400 (he won his race at Cashmere), CHS has eight athletes currently among the very best in their classification.

Coupeville’s Top 10 performances (current as of 10:00 AM Sunday):

Girls:

100 Hurdles — Lindsey Roberts (5th) 16.30

4 x 100 — Lauren Grove, Roberts, Maya Toomey-Stout, Mallory Kortuem (5th) 52.17

Mitchell Carroll (left) and Nick Dion celebrate a state title in Science Olympiad.

Best in the biz.

Coupeville High School seniors Nick Dion and Mitchell Carroll beat competitors from 21 other schools Saturday to claim a title in Robot Arm at the Science Olympiad state championships.

The duo also finished fourth in Electric Vehicle, while teammates Josh Robinson and Luke Carlson claimed third place in Write It, Do It.

Sparked by their three top-five finishes, the Wolves finished 18th as a team, one spot better than they did in 2015, their last trip to state.

Camas won the team title.

Nationals are in Dayton, Ohio in May, but the season is done for Coupeville, as only the top teams, and not individual winners, advance to the big dance.
