Three more booters have joined the club.

Hailey Goldman, Emma Cushman, and Liam Lawson all rattled the net for their first goal of the season during the past week, pushing the number of Coupeville High School soccer players to net a score to 23 this fall.

On the girls’ side, the 2026 edition of the Wolves has already set a program record, with 12 “made” women in one year.

Meanwhile, the CHS boys, with 11 names in the scoring column, have tied the 2018 squad for the second-best showing behind the 2004 squad, which set a high-water mark of 15 guys beating rival goaltenders.

Last, but not least, junior Edmund Wilson, who leads all Wolf scorers this season, slapped home his 18th career goal Saturday in a rumble with Mount Vernon Christian, moving into the #5 slot on the CHS boys career scoring chart.

With four pitch contests on the schedule this week — two for both the girls and boys — look for it to rain … goals.

Softball is a year-round sport, and so is the art of “liberating” photos to share with the world.

The pics above and below feature current and former Wolves who are out there chasing diamond dreams this fall, whether it be at the college level or on high school travel ball squads.

Coupeville grads Madison McMillan (Edmonds College) and Teagan Calkins (University of Colorado Boulder) are playing at the next level.

Meanwhile current Wolves Adeline Maynes, Chelsi Stevens, Capri Anter, and smash sisters Sydney and Cami Van Dyke are playing with select teams, making the commitment to travel off Island in between classes in Cow Town.

All are swinging big bats and continuing to spread the news that Coupeville is a softball hotbed.

Elle Peterson brings big energy to Mickey Clark Field. (Jackie Saia photos)

They’ve left the sideline, but the cheers linger.

Coupeville High School played its final home football game of the season Friday, beating South Whidbey 12-0 to retain ownership of The Bucket, and the Wolves did so backed by their always-enthusiastic spirit team.

Will the CHS cheerleaders travel to Leavenworth or Friday Harbor in the coming weeks as the gridiron giants close their campaign with back-to-back road games?

Maybe so, or maybe they’ll make the swing to looking towards taking their energy inside for basketball season.

Either way, we offer up congrats on a job well done, and present a smorgasbord of photos snapped by Jackie Saia.

They run in the sun for fun.

And in the rain sometimes, even in pain.

Cross country harriers are a different breed, traveling from town to town in packs and zipping over surfaces of all kinds in the endless pursuit of PRs and that elusive runner’s high.

Saturday brought runners from both Coupeville High School and Middle School to the wilds of Granite Falls.

In the collection of photos above and below, which come to us from Kelly Powers, you can glimpse a slice of that runner’s life.
