Everyone gets their portrait taken, but there’s no promise in what order they’ll run.

At the start of every sports season, photo whiz kid John Fisken clicks away merrily, recording each Wolf who shows up on Photo Day, then he’s nice enough to shoot them my way for use during the season.

As the games play out, a lot of the photos are used, though some get bumped as game action shots start to roll in.

I like to make sure all the portraits hit the internet at some point, though.

So, as we wade through a fairly quiet week (high school finals are keeping CHS players out of competition from Sunday to Thursday), here’s eight, which, for whatever reason, haven’t seen the light of day yet.

Former CHS coach Craig Pedlar returned Friday for the 101st anniversary of Wolf boys basketball. (Photos by JohnsPhotos.net)

Sherry Roberts, a basketball star of the late ’80s, hangs out with the next big thing in Wolf Nation, son Landon.

It ain’t a thing without that swing.

Speedy shutterbug Maya Toomey-Stout snaps away as the action unfolds a few inches away.

Jordan Ford 1, Sherry Roberts 0. Rest assured, payback will be swift and deadly.

A superstar in every seat, as the living legends return to their alma mater to be honored.

Wolf mom Kali Barrio and daughter Jennifer Bergeron cheer on their favorite hoops star, son/brother Ethan Spark.

Young gun Daniel Olson takes the sticks, as drumming veterans Sean Toomey-Stout (left) and Ben Olson prepare to give him grief (or a Wet Willie).

You can go home again.

Coupeville High School celebrated the 101st anniversary of its boys basketball program Friday, and there was a legend in every seat.

The superstars of the ’70s crossed paths with guys who want to match their achievements in the coming years, and fans of every age showed up to watch it all go down.

Travelin’ photo man John Fisken was there as well, though he was working, snapping pics all night long.

The mix of glossy images above are courtesy him.

To view more photos of the former Wolf players and coaches in attendance, some of which have already run here on Coupeville Sports, and some of which you may not have seen, pop over to:

Jean Lund-Olsen floats in the air for an eternity before softly nailing a sweet lil’ jumper. (Photos by JohnsPhotos.net)

Ace tennis duo Sage Renninger (left) and Payton Aparicio make sure everyone remembers what Wolf legend-in-the-making Hunter Smith looks like.

Hope Lodell (left) and Sylvia Arnold (gently) compete for the title of World’s Nicest Person.

Oh Chimacum, you wouldn’t like Kyle Rockwell when you make him mad.

Jered Brown gets ready to slice ‘n dice the defense.

Man, myth or urban legend? Cameron Toomey-Stout, AKA “Camtastic,” is all that and more.

Alex Jimenez only has eyes for the man on the other end of this pass.

“My good sir, I do not believe I gave you permission to take my photo!!”

A cameraman’s work never stops.

In between capturing action-packed images on film, local photo bug John Fisken always grabs some human interest pics as well, which makes him enormously popular in these parts.

The pics above, a mix of on and off court, come to us from Friday night’s CHS boys basketball games against visiting Chimacum.

Maddy Hilkey has had just about enough of the referee’s shenanigans, thank you very much. (Photos by JohnsPhotos.net)

Spying an opening, Kyla Briscoe slashes to the hoop, leaving a hapless defender sprawled on the floor behind her.

The always calm and cool Tia Wurzrainer puts the steady in steady-cam.

Mollie Bailey eyes the defense with an eagle eye.

Feeling the heat coming up behind her, Chelsea Prescott looks for an open teammate.

Sophomore sensation Hannah Davidson hangs out with the president of her fan club.

The sound of basketballs bouncing, sneakers squeaking and cameras clicking washes over the prairie.

Coupeville is deep in to its hoops season, with Klahowya visiting Cow Town Tuesday to face the Wolf girls.

Shutterbug John Fisken popped his head into the CHS gym for a bit, and snagged a collection of shots from both the varsity and JV games.

The pics above are courtesy him.

Kyle Rockwell returns to Earth, rebound in hand. (Photos by JohnsPhotos.net)

Matt Stevens lines up a shot.

Using his licence to thrill, Sage Downes slashes to the hoop.

Wolf coaches Chris Smith (black jacket) and Brad Sherman eye the action during Coupeville’s first C-Team game of the season. Spoiler: the Wolves won.

Tucker Hall lofts a shot.

Chris Ruck can taste the excitement in the air.

James Vidoni splits the Turk defense on his way to throwing down a bucket.

They can travel near and far, but John Fisken will always find them.

Whidbey Island’s main photo bug was off to the mainland Saturday for a shopping spree, and, on the way back, he veered off to Sultan to track down Coupeville’s boys basketball squads.

Venturing to Turk territory, camera in hand, Fisken snagged pics of the Wolf varsity, JV and (in their debut) C-Team and he provides us with the photos seen above.

And remember, purchases help fund college scholarships for CHS student/athletes, so, circle of life and everything.
