They came, they saw, they built a wall of noise.

Wolf fans, many dressed as construction workers to honor the night’s spirit theme, came out in force Wednesday as Coupeville High School volleyball matched spikes and sets with visiting Neah Bay.

Capturing the off-court action, while dressed for his own audition with the Village People, wanderin’ photographer John Fisken delivers the pics seen above and below.

It’s the deer’s town. We just live in it.

A pack of unruly venison on the hoof invaded Mickey Clark Field Tuesday as Coupeville High School soccer kicked off the season.

“Yeah, that’s right. You don’t want none of this! Go do a deep dive on the internet and get some facts on deer wasting disease. You won’t sleep again, Mr. Big Shot!”

It’s the final roar of summer.

Hydros for Heroes returned to the waters off of Oak Harbor for a seventh time this weekend, with boats zipping across the H20 while fans tipped one back in the beer garden.

The annual event brings in upwards of 50 race teams and 10,000 fans each year, and highlights the activities of law enforcement, firefighters/EMS, military, and healthcare professionals.

Money raised goes to fund scholarships.

Coupeville and South Whidbey clashed in the annual Battle for the Bucket Friday night in Langley, drawing in a sizable number of fans supporting both schools.

There was even a bee or two (or 40,000…) hanging around the visitor bleachers, intent on joining the festivities.

Cow Town became the Wild West Wednesday night.

Coupeville High School volleyball fans came out for the season opener attired in prairie outfits as the Wolves waged an epic battle with visiting South Whidbey.
