The Bennett Richter era is underway.

Coupeville High School’s new head football coach made his debut Thursday, as the Wolves traveled to Richter’s alma mater for a five-team spring scrimmage.

Oak Harbor hosted the event, with South Whidbey, Sedro-Woolley, and Inglemoor (led by former CHS coach Marcus Carr) also on the field.

Since my blog is called Coupeville Sports, that’s what we’re focusing on with our selection of pics, but there are plenty of photos featuring the other Whidbey schools.

To take a look at what wanderin’ photographer John Fisken snapped, pop over to:

Little league season is going strong, even between the frequent bursts of rain.

They capture the lighter side of things in between the more-serious team photos.

First, they walked on by. Then they drove on by.

A day before graduation, Coupeville High School’s Class of 2022 participated in an assortment of time-honored traditions.

The Wolves, sporting their robes, strolled down to the elementary school, passing through the hallways where many of them got their start.

Then they hit the road for a car parade, before heading off to breakfast.

Along the way photo whiz kid John Fisken snapped the pics you see above and below.

Some tee shots, a few divots, and a whole lot of purple.

Whidbey Golf Club was hoppin’ Saturday, as Oak Harbor High School’s athletic department held its big fundraiser for the year.

The event drew a lot of Wildcats, a handful of Coupeville duffers, and wanderin’ photographer John Fisken, who kept his camera clickin’ all day.

Their bats bashed a merry tune.

Coupeville High School softball sluggers ripped the hide off the ball this spring, as seen in the pics above and below.

A hit-happy crew from the top of the order to the bottom of the lineup, the Wolves kept the scoreboard jumpin’ and the cameras clickin’.
