OK, now we’re finished.

With the first high school basketball games six days away, today marks the final photo essay featuring fall sports.

Really this time.

And the spikers were the final Coupeville High School athletes to be playing, so it’s sort of fitting they account for the last batch of pics.

One more flashback to the big stage in Yakima.

Coupeville High School spikers are still basking in the afterglow of a trip to the 2B state tourney, and, thanks to Wolf Mom Jackie Saia, we’ve got a bunch more photos to capture the moment.

Marinate in the sets and spikes.

“I just thought it was so sweet.”

Wolf Mom Kim Brotemarkle is a frequent presence at games, as a coach, parent, and fan.

The photo above, which she sent my way from the state volleyball tourney in Yakima, captures her daughter Taylor and Wolf senior Issabel Johnson, who both won sportsmanship awards for the way they conducted themselves on the big stage.

Wins and losses come and go.

This is the kind of connection remembered years down the road when these two have daughters of their own playing the sport.
