Last banquet, last honors

They hit the final tape.

Coupeville High School track and field athletes wrapped their season — and the run of spring awards banquets — Thursday night.

Following on the heels of softball, baseball, and girls’ tennis, the school’s largest spring sports squad handed out varsity letters and participation certificates.

CHS coaches, led by Elizabeth Bitting and Bob Martin, also honored Erica McGrath and Hank Milnes as four-year athletes and hailed the 18 Wolves who went to state.

Netters wrap season with banquet

The final shot has been hit, and varsity letters awarded.

Coupeville High School girls’ tennis coaches and players capped their unusual season — one in which they never had a home match thanks to work on new courts — with a banquet Wednesday night.

 

Honored with letters were:

Delanie Lewis
Brynn Parker
Skylar Parker
Sofia Phay
Rafaela Silva De Campos Conceicao
Tenley Stuurmans

 

Five of those eight can return next spring — when new CHS courts should finally be open — with seniors Leavell and Skylar Parker, as well as foreign exchange student Silva De Campos Conceicao departing.

Leading the returnees will be Stuurmans, who advanced to the state tournament as just an 8th grader.

First the wins, then the awards.

Coming off its second-straight trip to the state tournament, the Coupeville High School baseball program honored its players Tuesday night at a season-ending banquet.

Senior Peyton Caveness and Junior Landon Roberts earned Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year honors to lead things off, with several of their teammates also receiving praise.

Sluggers hand out awards, letters

A season of success ended with awards and praise.

The Coupeville High School softball squad, which went 14-5 and reclaimed the Northwest 2B/1B League title, capped the campaign Saturday with a team banquet.

Sophomore catcher Teagan Calkins was crowned team MVP, while junior third baseman Madison McMillan and 8th grade pitcher Adeline Maynes earned Offensive and Defensive MVP honors, respectively.

That’s a wrap for winter sports

They’ve left the gym, but you can still hear the cheers.

The Coupeville High School spirit team lit up winter nights during basketball season, providing a brisk backbeat to the squeaking of shoes.

Putting a cap on things Friday, the Wolves handed out awards and letters at a season-ending banquet.

Bella Karr was tabbed as the winner of the Spirit Award, while Jayden Cooks copped the Coaches Award, and Emma Garcia earned Most Improved.

Hayley Thomas went home with the Wolf Award, while Alysia Burdge and Isabella Schooley rounded things out, being honored as team captains.

Alysia Burdge, here hanging out with fellow track thrower Zane Oldenstadt, is a cheer team captain like her sisters before her.
