The tennis was inspired, the photos even more so.

Battling back in the final match of the afternoon Friday, the Coupeville High School girls’ tennis squad pulled out a 4-3 thriller over visiting Chimacum/Port Townsend.

But the real MVP was rovin’ photo man John Fisken, who slid by and spent time bouncing from court to court in pursuit of snappy pics.

The photos above, which feature a surprise cameo from Port Townsend’s Amelia Breithaupt, who has been a Coupeville fan favorite the last two years, are courtesy him.

First with the stats, first with the photos.

The Whidbey Island Marathon had barely ended Saturday and Coupeville Sports had results posted for all the Coupeville runners.

Doubt me? Just scroll down the page a story or two.

Now, thanks to madly-clickin’ camera whiz John Fisken, we have snappy pics of Cow Town-based runners, long before any of the Canadian-funded media outlets get going.

Speed, baby. All about that speed.

It was a freakin’ heat wave.

The weather was so nice Saturday, Coupeville and Oak Harbor easily put in five plus hours of JV baseball, with the two squads splitting games.

Now, as some of us ponder sun burns on a Sunday morning, the rest of you can take a gander at some of the many snappy pics taken by wanderin’ photo man John Fisken.

It’s almost over.

Thursday is the third consecutive day with no live sports in Wolf Nation, as Spring Break continues to unfold in all its laid-back charm.

Once we hit Friday, however, we’re back at it, at least for a moment.

Coupeville High School baseball hits the road to La Conner, while Wolf boys’ soccer travels to Puyallup to face Cascade Christian.

Until then, we offer up a smorgasbord of spring sports pics, drawing on all five CHS teams and fans alike, to remind you what they would all look like if they were in action.

Everyone got home early.

Thanks to some quirky scheduling brought on by Spring Break, Coupeville and Forks played two soccer games Monday and were still home before most parents got done with their jobs.

Thanks to wanderin’ photo man John Fisken, who operates on his own clock, you can still wallow in snappy pitch pics, even if you weren’t at Mickey Clark Field.
